Tim Klijn often made radio with Gordon: ‘It was sometimes very heavy’

Tim Klijn, Edwin Evers’ successor on Radio 538, has often made radio with Gordon in the past. Did that go well? Yes, but not always. “Sometimes it was very hard.”

Gordon has recently been on earth for 55 years. A good age, but also the age at which he loses a very lucrative, exclusive TV contract: his collaboration with Talpa ends in December. What is Gordon’s next step in the showbiz world? Will he make the switch to radio again?

Laughing with Gordon

The guys on the 538 morning show note that Gordon has been doing radio for years. Sidekick Niels van Baarlen: “We have often made a program with Gordon.”

Tim Klijn, Edwin Evers’ successor, says: “Yes, very often, yes. Those were special times.”

Niels: “That was a laugh, man.”

Tim: “That was always a laugh, yes.”

Niels: “With that man you never knew what tomorrow would be like.”

Grumpy head

However, it wasn’t always fun, says Tim. “At least you knew that if he came in with a very grumpy face, then you knew: oh, this is going to be a really tough show, but if he felt like it, you had such a great fun broadcast… ”

Niels: “Do you know someone who has given a car to so many relations? And brought it back? haha.”

Tim: “No. No, that was ehhh… But he was indeed always in love. Actually a bit endearing too. He always had the love of his life.’

‘Then Angry’

The last love of his life revealed Gordon’s true colors and his image has been under serious threat ever since. What used to happen when his relationships with the loves of his life were on deck?

Newsreader Florentien van der Meulen: “After that very angry.”

Tim: “And then very angry, yes.”

Niels: “Just being disappointed all the time.”

Tim: “Yes, that’s Gordon.”
