Tim Hofman and his star sidekick Marije de Roode are completely blown away in the latest episode of their online hit BOOS. They are in a rift over a rather eccentric ‘conman’.
Week in week out, Tim Hofman hunts down all kinds of companies and organizations that harm consumers in his BOOS program. This week it’s a Mr Ruben’s turn who is duping customers of his webshop on the assembly line. The entrepreneur also appears to be active on TikTok, where there are all kinds of videos in which he plays the leading role.
Giggles
Tim and his star sidekick Marije de Roode take a quick look at the TikTok videos in their program, but they get a lot of giggles from it. The entrepreneur plays a kind of bad guy who boasts of his expensive car and white sneakers, while that does not match his appearance and demeanor at all. He’s a pretty rare guy.
Those silly TikTok videos, combined with the crooked English of the gentleman in question, ensure that Tim and Marije can’t stop laughing. “We can conclude a few things from this: he is a very bad playbacker and he is very proud of his car,” the presenter screeched.
Threat
Tim and Marije soon stop laughing. When they confront the entrepreneur with all the complaints, the atmosphere changes considerably. “If you filmed… Amsterdam, I know exactly where you live!” he shouts angrily.
Tim reacts bewildered. “I just want a business explanation. Where did it go wrong? (…) Is this a threat or something?”
