Tim den Besten goes wrong again after his unfriendly statements about Humberto Tan. This time he has the dead name by Loiza Lamers. “I should have known better and I’m sorry.”

Loiza Lamers has been a role model for transgender children in the Netherlands since winning Holland’s Next Top Model. She is on the cover of LINDA magazine this month, together with Mart Hoogkamer and Patty Brard. VPRO face Tim den Besten ran into this by accident yesterday, after which he got one story about posted on Instagram.

Indefinite feeling

As Tim films the cover, he zooms in more and more on Loiza’s crotch. “Got an indefinable feeling from this cover”, he adds.

Then Tim posts a screenshot of Loiza’s page on Wikipedia. Here you can find information about the transition that Loiza has undergone. “I googled Loiza Lamers because I didn’t know exactly who she is. Turns out she was born as Lucas but that’s not why I filmed her crotch!!! #ichhabedasnichtgewusst.”

‘Sorry’

It is unpleasant for many transgender people to be confronted with their so-called deadname, the original name they were given at birth. Using that ‘dead’ name is eagerly used by haters to hurt and insult. That, of course, is not Tim’s intention.

Tim: “Accidentally used Loiza’s deadname because copied from Wikipedia but I should have known better and I’m sorry. ❤️.”

Sneer at Humberto

It is the second time in a short time that Tim has apologized to a celebrity. He said sorry to Humberto Tan three weeks ago, because he had suggested that the presenter had been chosen to join Zomergasten mainly because of his skin color.

Tim is also a bit disappointed by all his Insta blunders. “I post a lot. Always going well, except for the past few weeks. The shine is gone.”
