Tim den Besten is sick at home with a rare form of cancer, but RTL Boulevard nevertheless wonders what the police want from him. “There are disturbing reports.”
It’s terrible what’s going on with Tim den Besten. At just 36 years old, he was struck by a rare form of cancer and is still awaiting results before he can be treated at all. The news was announced on Thursday evening, after a day full of speculation and rumors about the VPRO star.
Illegal acts
Yvonne Coldeweijer had revealed earlier that day that Het Parool is working on a revealing article about Tim and that even the police are involved. That news was of course completely overshadowed by his lawyer’s later statement that the presenter is ill, but her information is correct. It’s separate.
The VPRO has confirmed that they have received questions from Het Parool and the police told RTL Boulevard: “We are aware of these messages, which were published on Yvonne Coldeweijer’s channel. We are investigating it. We are investigating which criminal offenses are involved and we are investigating who the suspect is.”
Disturbing
Although Tim is seriously ill, that holds him back RTL Boulevard I don’t like to figure out exactly what that research is about. “Since yesterday afternoon, we in the editorial office, but also Yvonne Coldeweijer and her juice channel, have been receiving very disturbing messages about Tim den Besten,” said presenter Eddy Zoëy.
Eddy a little later in the broadcast: “Then let’s talk about the police investigation and Het Parool that wants to write about it… I don’t think it concerns him at all at the moment, but what do we know about that?”
‘It plays’
Media expert Rob Goossens indicates that Yvonne’s information is indeed correct. “It certainly plays a role. Of course, the police also confirmed to us yesterday that an investigation is underway. Tim’s lawyer says that they know nothing and that they are not at all concerned about the Parool article.”
He continues: “To be clear: you would say that he has a lawyer because he might feel something is wrong, but that is really not the case, because it is mainly someone who speaks on behalf of him and the family. I imagine he has something else on his mind at the moment.”
Terrible disease
And that is of course true. It is unclear exactly what is going on around Tim, but the most important thing is of course that he comes out of this battle healthy. “He doesn’t know what his chances are. At the same time he is very tired, he sleeps a lot, he is on medication. We can only imagine the hell he is going through right now,” said Rob.
According to Rob, we don’t have to count on a publication about Tim for the time being. “Het Parool understandably says that they do not want to say anything about this at the moment.”
