Yle’s series receives criticism – One thing in particular is rotten: “It seems that I will not watch it”

Annika, the Highland detective is not to everyone’s liking.

One thing in particular bothers Finnish viewers in the British one Annika, Highland detective in the series. It is summed up by Ylen’s public on Facebook pages Tellervowho is certainly not alone in his opinion.

– I guess I don’t watch it because I don’t like the main character talking directly to the camera. I really like this main character as an actress, she refers to the one who interprets the crime inspector Annika Strandhed to Nicola Walker.

Walker is also liked by many others, who are therefore ready to ignore the extraordinary power tool used in the series. The main character talking to the camera is called Fouth Wall in English. It translates into Finnish as the Fourth Wall, through which viewers usually watch TV series and movies. Everyone – both Actors and viewers – seems to pretend that the events of the series and movies are real and independent and that they are not made for the audience. When Annika looks into the camera and speaks directly to the viewer, she breaks this rule. The same has been done, among other things In Modern Family.

For some, actress Nicola Walker only has one look. Jamie Simpson, Yle

Annika’s soliloquy is still not the only thing that intrigues the viewers. Loved by many, like Tellervo, Nicola Walker is not everyone’s favourite. He downright annoys others.

– Walker’s manners are really strong. Stuttering and mouth twisting are already transferred from one series to another, among other things Jaria vex.

Irene on the other hand, the Finnish name of the series, though not the English one either, just bothers me Annika, gets full marks from him. A smarter name would be Irene Marine unit detective Annika Strandhed.

– This series has been given a really stupid name in Finnish. Highland detective is quite silly, like some youth series in the 60s, Irene points out and continues:

– If this series had a male character in the main role, the name of the series would be his last name. It’s kind of funny that women always use their first name.

The middle ground between fans and haters can then be accommodated Kaijan, Ann too and viewers like others. They have no strong feelings for or against.

– Not good, but Saturday’s routine includes that after the sauna I watch a BBC series, Kaija sums up.

Morgan (right) gets to know her father’s family without knowing exactly who they are. Graeme Hunter, General
