A day full of rumors about Tim den Besten’s absence ends with terrible news: the presenter suffers from a rare form of cancer. “The precise diagnosis has recently been established and the results of the latest tests are currently awaited before treatment can begin,” his lawyer reports.
Seriously ill
Tim was in the news today because of Yvonne Coldeweijer. The juice queen wondered this morning why the presenter has been absent for so long social media and after that a fair amount of rumors started. Her statement that Het Parool is or was working on an article about the presenter has been confirmed by the VPRO.
It is unclear what that article is about, but this news comes at the same time as the terrible announcement that Tim is seriously ill. “In addition to the physical consequences, Tim’s illness had and continues to have a major impact on his mental health,” HJ van der Tak, the program maker’s lawyer, told ANP.
‘Really terrible’
Yvonne thinks it’s terrible. “I had already heard this at the end of the afternoon. Really terrible. The lawyer did not want to answer whether there will be another article in Het Parool. Lots of strength Tim.”

Yvonne agrees: “What I posted is all true. I understand that it causes confusion that this is brought at the same time as a scandal. But it remains true that he made victims’ lives miserable for months. (…) The timing of all this is bizarre. But the truth is just the truth. And it is rock hard.”
For now, Frans thinks it is most important that Tim comes out of this battle healthy. “Oh dear, how terrible. So young. I hope he comes out of this stronger and that everything turns out well, I wish him all the best in this fight.”
