Tillys and Recover launch collection with recycled cotton

US retailer Tillys, which operates 248 stores and a webshop across the US, has partnered with Recover, a global producer of recycled cotton fibers, to develop a capsule collection. The line is part of the RSQ collection, an affordable denim brand exclusive to Tillys for men, women, boys and girls.

The new collection includes denim pieces, a t-shirt and a jacket, all containing at least 20 percent Recover low-impact recycled cotton fibers. As part of Tillys’ sustainability strategy, the retailer plans to incorporate more recycled cotton into its products over the long term, according to Ed Thomas, Tillys President & CEO.

The Recover brand belongs to Recover Textile Systems SL from Spain. Recover uses textile waste to create high-quality recycled cotton fibers that reduce the carbon and water footprint of clothing made with it. By partnering with Recover and using the recycled fibers in the RSQ collection, Tillys wants to increase its commitment to working on sustainability solutions.

“We are very excited about this new partnership with Tillys, which will help reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry and pave the way to a more sustainable future,” says Alfredo Ferre, CEO of Recover.
