Till Lindemann: Tour start and protests

His current solo album “Zunge” is out. Various Lindemann astrologers have already checked the songs for open or hidden messages. As usual, the videos are in baroque colors. And: A bit of fetish is always possible… semi-controversial mummery as always.

Now the solo tour is about to start, Leipzig is having the opening evening tomorrow, Wednesday (November 8th). It goes through at least 24 medium-sized halls across Europe. Outside the German-speaking world, the excitement surrounding the allegations of abuse was limited anyway.

The Lindemann lawyers are now taking a hard stance against alleged revelations from the Hamburg news magazine “Der Spiegel”. There is talk of unclean research work and that you can make a lot of click money with me-too stories. Lawyer Simon Bergmann said in an interview with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) that “certain media” were operating a real business model with their sex and crime reporting. “Der Spiegel”, in turn, would have artificially concealed the names of those injured and thus inflated the number.

So be it. The Lindemann caravan is moving on anyway. In Germany, ticket prices for his live performances are around 85 euros.

Of course the protests continue:

The “Feminist Strike Alliance Leipzig”, for example, does not want to come to terms with Lindemann Solo. The self-portrayal states: “We are a queer feminist and materialist feminist group. We work politically in Leipzig all year round and take part in March 8th…”

Under the slogan “No stage for Till Lindemann”, the controversial women are planning a rally before the concert in the local “Arena”, which has been sold out for weeks.

The call on Instagram says:

“On November 8th. Till Lindemann will perform in the Leipzig Quarterback Arena and thus start his current solo tour. We contacted the arena to request that the concert be canceled and have not received a response at this time. We don’t want to let the concert go ahead without objection, so we have registered a counter-rally. Come in large numbers and let us show together that we believe those affected and show solidarity with them! No stage for Till Lindemann!”

To outsiders, this conflict is somewhat reminiscent of the Trump trials. Both sides are sure of their cause and are determined to do their thing. People talk and act well armored past each other. At least it is an advantage that Till Lindemann cannot and does not want to win elections.
