Till Lindemann as a victim of opponents of Russia

Since the SVP-affiliated publisher Roger Köppel took over the renowned “Weltwoche”, the once left-liberal Swiss newspaper has been considered national conservative. The newspaper likes to be ironed tightly against the media mainstream. For the historian and media scientist Roger Blum, a haven of “countertheses”.

For example, when ex-FIFA boss Sepp Blatter was mired in a swamp of corruption and entanglements in 2015, the “Weltwoche” editors named him “Swiss of the Year” with a cover story. People like to see things a little differently in politics and everyday life. The campaign against wokeness or LGBTQ tendencies is almost flaming.

An environment that Till Lindemann now jumps aside with a remarkable view. The German author Sylvie-Sophie Schindler suspects in an (online) article that the Rammstein singer is attacked so violently because he has repeatedly presented himself as a friend of Russia.

For example, when he reinterpreted the Soviet heroic ballad “Lubimiy Gorod” (“Beloved City”) in his own way in 2021. In September of the same year he stood on the stage of the pompous military festival on Red Square in Moscow in a white cocktail jacket and smashed something solid into the microphone. For Schindler, Lindemann is someone who builds “bridges between peoples” with his songs.

Her conclusion: “It is not up to the people’s tribunal to decide what lies behind the allegations of sexual abuse that Lindemann is accused of, but rather the courts. The question of who this witch-hunt serves should lead to perhaps enlightening paths…”

An idiosyncratic murmur about a “campaign” controlled by whoever. In the comment column, the relevant trolls immediately position themselves with their view of things:

“Doesn’t it just say it all that, right before the tour starts, various women suddenly ‘remember’ the alleged sexual abuse using knockout drops and alcohol and come out with it?,” whispers a Hans-Peter.

And a man named Kostas reaches even higher up the political opinion shelf in the same place: “The German state suppresses every relationship with Russia by force. You should, because Russia is lost for Germany. They won’t notice until the cake is eaten. ‘Mister Biden, did we do well’?”
