Bert van Leeuwen can never go on holiday normally. The recordings of his TV child Het Familiediner with Tijs van den Brink as the new presenter have completely gone wrong. An angry candidate got up furiously from the table and then smashed a ceramic vase on the table. “This is really not going to happen!”, said the presenter.
Staged
It’s all staged, of course. Tijs has recorded a playful promotional video for the new season of the Bert van Leeuwen hit Het Familiediner. “Tijs, you can do this! You will be the new Bert!”, he is told in the video by his broadcaster EO. “This is your new image! We are going to completely rebrand you.”
Tijs in the next scene of the promo: “Welcome to the new season of Het Familiediner. Not with Bert, but with me. And I’m on my way to Gradus. He hasn’t seen his sister Connie for years because of an argument over a pan of potatoes.”
Man explodes
Once arrived Connie tells that Gradus always asks for too many potatoes. He then angrily jumps off the table to smash a vase. It shatters into a thousand pieces. It may be staged, but this still looks pretty link. As far as is known, Tijs did not use a stuntman during the recordings.
How does the promo video end? Tijs runs away from the table and desperately calls Bert, who is on holiday at a sunny destination. “Bert! This is really going wrong! We need you!”
