Already in the first half of 2022, a newcomer from Renault will enter the European market. In Europe it will be called Dacia Bigster. The mid-size 4.6-meter budget crossover will compete with the 4.5-meter Volkswagen Tiguan. With a comparable size, a Frenchman will be 30% cheaper than a German.
The Tiguan is sold in the UK, starting at 28,600 pounds (2,860,000 rubles), and the price of the Skoda Karoq starts at 24,000 pounds (2.4 million rubles). Prices for the new French crossover, based on the CMF-B platform, will start at 20,000 pounds, that is, 2 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
Dacia Bigster will share the trolley with the new Russian model Lada. The design of the Russian woman will be approved in 2024, and its premiere on the market will take place in 2025. It is known that it will be called NIVA. The Lada logo – a rook inscribed in the oval – will not be on the radiator grille. Instead, it is planned to place four letters of the model name – NIVA – illuminated by LEDs on the black background of the grille.
And although Bigster and NIVA will be close in technical equipment, their motor line will differ. In the UK and Europe, Dacia will rely on an E-Tech plug-in hybrid based on a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter petrol engine, while the alternative will be a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 90 to 130 horsepower. The latter engine is also well known in Russia. It is installed on Duster, Arkana, Kaptur and some Mercedes-Benz models. The new car is positioned in Europe as a car for daily travel and travel.
