The Phusis care farm on De Bosweg in Hoogersmilde is under increased supervision by the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ). The inspectorate sees shortcomings in the care that Phusis provides at this location. Location De Bosweg is a care farm where clients live and work.
On October 3, the inspection visited the De Bosweg location, after having already visited it in March last year. The same shortcomings emerged in October. For example, healthcare providers in training have responsibilities that do not match their experience and there are insufficient healthcare providers to guide them. In addition, the inspection saw risks related to hygiene, medication safety and assessing risks for clients.
Phusis De Bosweg has until June 11 at the latest to meet the standards for good care. If necessary, the inspectorate can take further measures and they also expect Phusis to implement improvements at other locations.
In August the news emerged that care was substandard at the Phusis locations in Rolde and Nooitgedacht. The inspection also saw that there was insufficient expertise at the location in Rolde to provide the right care to vulnerable clients. And in Rolde, hygiene was seriously substandard in the temporary building where care was provided.
At the two De Trans locations in Nooitgedacht, the inspection saw that there was insufficient supervision of the use of medicines and there were concerns about the expertise of the staff.
