Angela de Jong opens the attack on Dionne Stax. She states that the presenter has made it on television because of her ‘tight sweaters’, but that she is seriously lacking in content.
Angela’s paper guillotine hits Dionne this time. She is really completely put through the mangle in the latest column of the TV columnist. The central message? Dionne has made it in the TV world because she is ‘stunningly beautiful’ and wore ‘tight sweaters’, but not because of the content.
tight sweaters
Broadcaster MAX star Dionne Stax yesterday started her last program under the banner of AvroTros: Dionne and the First Ladies, a program about American first ladies. The viewing figures are quite disappointing and that does not surprise Angela de Jong at all. The opinion diva of the AD is not at all impressed by the TV show.
TV bosses should really stop putting Dionne on substantive and journalistic programs, Angela thinks. “Because then it becomes painfully clear time and again that she is seriously deficient in those areas.”
fishbowl
Angela points out that Dionne’s afternoon talk show on NPO Radio 1 was also ‘twitching’ and her TV series about Máxima ‘excruciatingly boring’. And her new program on first ladies is of the same level, Angela thinks. “That again turned out to have the depth of a fishbowl.”
Angela is not surprised that this program has been delayed for so long. “It seems very likely that no one knew what to do with this School TV work by Dionne and the NPO is now cleverly hiding it in a period when fewer people are already in front of the TV.”
