Tiffany & Co. has opened a pop-up store in Paris. The temporary point of sale will be open for a year on Avenue Montaigne, one of the most famous shopping streets in the French capital.
The store will feature a variety of modern Tiffany classics such as pieces from the T1 and Knot collections. Older pieces of jewelery designed for Tiffany by designer Elsa Schiaparelli and French jewelery designer Jean Schlumberger complete the range.
In addition to the jewelry for sale, there is an exhibition of historic Tiffany creations curated by Alba Cappallieri, Professor of Jewelry Design and Fashion Accessories at the Politecnico di Milano. The exhibition will be constantly changing throughout the year. The pieces on display include an orchid brooch and a perfume bottle designed by George Paulding Farnham, who was Tiffany’s chief designer between 1885 and 1905. Also included is an auction catalog of French crown jewels, some of which founder Charles Lewis Tiffany bought in 1887, cementing Tiffany’s reputation as one of America’s most important jewelry manufacturers.
Anthony Ledru, CEO of Tiffany & Co., describes the pop-up concept as an “innovative approach to the Parisian way of shopping and a forward-thinking vision of experimental retail”.
