There were seven weight categories, for both women and men. Aslanbek Kagermanov from Judo Club Koksijde became Belgian Champion at – 81 kg. Robbe Demets, declared judo promise of 2022, became Belgian Champion in the -66 kg class after a long duel.
It is Demets’ first season with the seniors. After 6 national youth titles, he is now also Belgian Senior Champion. In this way he is slowly but surely building a beautiful course. The Olympic Games in Paris next year may come a little too early for him.
