From now on it is possible to buy tickets for the Drèents Liedtiesfestival again. The twelfth edition of the music spectacle is scheduled for May 9. Then ten finalists will compete in the Atlas Theater in Emmen for the prize for the best Drenthe-language song of 2024.
The winner of the Song Festival will not only win a cash prize of 2,000 euros to spend on a professional recording, but will also represent Lower Saxony at the SUNS Europe Festival in Friuli, Italy.
Musicians, lyricists and composers of Drenthe music can register until March 9 with the REUR Foundation, organizer of the music festival. Each song is judged by an expert committee.
The committee then selects ten songs that will cross swords on Thursday, May 9. The final will be broadcast live on TV Drenthe and rtvdrenthe.nl. The finalists will be announced on April 6.
