According to the statement on the organization’s website, Vezenkov was awarded the title of MVP of the 2022-2023 season as a result of voting by fans, media, head coaches and team captains.
The 27-year-old basketball player, who played “double-double” 8 times this season, produced 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 21.2 productivity points per game. Vezenkov was top of the league in scoring and productivity score statistics.
Having a significant share in the performance of Olympiakos, who finished the regular season at the top and made it to the Final Four by eliminating Fenerbahçe Beko in the play-offs, Vezenkov was selected as the MVP of the week 5 times and the MVP of the month 2 times.
On the other hand, Vezenkov became the third Olympiakos player to be named MVP in the EuroLeague, after Milos Teodosic (2010) and Vassilis Spanoulis (2013).
