“Thriller 40” documentary can be seen in Germany in December

On November 30, 1982, Michael Jackson’s best-selling album, “Thriller,” was released. Around 40 years after its release, a documentary now honors his work and also shows previously unpublished original recordings by the artist. The German premiere of the film will take place on MTV on Saturday, December 2nd at 8:15 p.m. It is currently unknown whether the work will be available for streaming afterwards.

“Thriller” brought Jackson ten number one hits and eight Grammy Awards and stayed at the top of the German charts for eight weeks after its release. With over 100 million copies sold, it remains the world’s best-selling album to this day.

The documentary was shot by director Nelson George, who takes viewers on a nostalgic journey into the music world of the 1980s. The film offers insights into the background of the record and the creation of the accompanying music videos. Some prominent voices will also have their say in the documentary and report on their personal experiences with the album. These include Usher, Mary J. Blige, will.i.am, Mark Ronson and Misty Copeland.
