Master Mieke Byttebier asked in vain to reclassify the facts from unintentional killing to culpable negligence. S. also denies that she gave speed to the victim. The defense mainly insisted on a suspended sentence, linked to conditions. F.’s lawyer did ask for an acquittal by noting that the victim was not present during the drug deal. The judge sentenced both defendants to the requested effective prison sentences. For the time being, they must pay a total of 11,150 euros in compensation to the civil parties.
