A new attempt was made tonight because the water level is lower then. According to a press photographer on site, things did not go completely smoothly: the ship hit a lamp from the bridge. Dozens of spectators watched intently from the bridge.
The 80-meter-long superyacht that had to turn around on Saturday because the colossus did not fit under the railway bridge at Hedel, managed to pass the railway bridge at Hedel earlier on Monday after a second attempt.
The huge luxury ship was previously unable to pass under the bridge because of the high water level. The largest yacht ever built at Heesen Yachts in Oss therefore had to return to the Koornwaard quarry near Gewande where it anchored.
Prior to the new attempt on Monday, a measurement was taken with a pole and a laser to see if continuing on Monday had a chance of success. After it had been calculated that there was enough space, the ship was able to continue on its way. The ship did not get very far, because another bridge is transversely at Heusden.
The Galactica features a cinema, a helipad and a seven-meter pool. The superyacht will go to a new owner in April. The unknown buyer paid 100 million euros for the ship.
