Three suspects remain in jail after a major drug bust in Ruddervoorde
In an investigation into counterfeit cigarettes, customs raided a warehouse on Leiteweg in Ruddervoorde, near Oostkamp, on Monday 19 June. In the shed, the investigators discovered large bags containing no less than 35 kilograms of hashish and 3 kilograms of cannabis. They were able to arrest six suspects on the spot.
Two suspects have since been released on bail. The investigating judge decided to keep three others in prison for at least a month longer. In principle, the fourth arrested suspect will not return to court in two weeks. They all deny having anything to do with the case.
