Three suspects in Coevorden shooting and stabbing incident are men from that town

The three suspects who were arrested last night after the shooting and stabbing incident in Coevorden are three men from that town. They are 38, 40 and 60 years old, the police announced. A minor suspect was previously arrested.

According to the police, there was probably an argument between several people at the Oystercatcher in Coevorden yesterday morning. Shots were fired and the suspected shooter was reportedly stabbed. When the police arrived at the Oystercatcher, a 40-year-old man from Utrecht appeared to have a gunshot wound and was seriously injured.

Not much later, an underage boy was arrested for the stabbing incident. The police have been searching for other suspects, including with a drone team and a police helicopter. No one was found at the site where the shooting took place.

That did happen later in the day: the three suspects from Coevorden were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The suspected shooter is one of three men.
