The three suspects who were arrested on Saturday when a drug lab was discovered on the Aalsmeerderweg in Rijsenhout were still in custody on Sunday afternoon. This concerns a 34-year-old man from The Hague and two people without a permanent place of residence.
They were born in 1978 and 1982, a police spokesperson said. The spokesperson could not say whether one of them is the owner of the building.
A legal cannabis farm is planned at the location where the drug lab was found in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. The entrepreneur applied for a permit for this location in December 2023 as part of the national experiment in a closed coffee shop chain.
Local residents not surprised
Residents living near the drug lab already had their suspicions that something was wrong in the yard at Aalsmeerderweg 645. “Not much happened and there were always expensive cars there. So one and one makes two,” said one man who wanted to remain anonymous. Employees of the nearby recycling center also had that feeling. “We thought it was a strange sight when we drove past,” says an employee in front of the NH camera. “So it’s not surprising that this happens.”
