Three PAK members leave for coalition with PvdA and VVD | 1Limburg

Three members of the Progressive ACcord (PAK) Brunssum split from the party. The members are not satisfied with the choice of the rest of the party to form a coalition with the PvdA and the VVD.

It concerns councilors Servie L’Espoir and Piet Drenth and member Math Houben who are leaving PAK.

moral boundary
“People, the choice VVD, PvdA, Borger and PAK is not our choice and crosses a moral boundary that we do not cross,” the splitters write. In an open letter to members of the PAK, they express their preference for continuing local government. It would then be a college consisting of PAK, Lijst Borger and BBB / Lijst Palmen.

For reclassification
According to them, national parties only commented on the local policy of the previous coalition. In addition, they accuse the national parties of being in favor of reclassification and refer to a negative integrity report about a member of the VVD.

lost confidence
During the elections, the national parties suddenly called themselves local, according to the writers. “In fact, VVD and PvdA declare themselves the winners of the elections, while they have lost their votes and thus lost confidence,” the undersigned said.

New faction
The undersigned say in the letter that they will continue to do their council work from a new group to be formed. “Unfortunate and painful, but consistent in word and deed before and after the elections.”

L’Espoir could not yet be reached for comment.
