Three new housing coaches received their certificates from Hoogeveen alderman for sustainability Jeroen Westendorp last week. This means that the team of housing coaches in the municipality of Hoogeveen is back at full strength.
“We all have to deal with higher energy bills, so it is wise to look at how you can make your home more sustainable. These expert volunteers give free advice, which is very nice for the residents of our municipality,” said Alderman Westendorp.
Advice on future-proofing
The new housing coaches are trained to be able to advise people in the field of energy, sustainability, safety and living at home for longer. They enter into discussions with residents to see what they need to make their home future-proof. The housing coach helps residents with advice and taking the right steps. They also provide advice on adjustments to the home so that residents can continue to live independently at home for as long as possible.
Home visit
Homeowners with questions about sustainability and continuing to live independently can contact the team of housing coaches for a home visit. The housing coach examines the home together with the resident and discusses the wishes for the future. After the visit, a report and advice from the housing coach will follow. The independent housing coach then helps residents on their way if they decide to make adjustments to their home.
The Welzijnswerk Foundation supports the housing coaches in carrying out the work. The housing coaches can be reached via tel 0528-278855 or e-mail [email protected].
