Three people were injured in a stabbing in the center of Eindhoven in the night from Friday to Saturday. Two of them were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The police have arrested a suspect.
The stabbing happened around a quarter past four at night on Catharinaplein, near Stratumseind. This is the popular nightlife area of Eindhoven.
After the incident, several ambulances came to the center to take the three injured to hospital. The police immediately closed off a large area with tape. There are large puddles of blood in various places over a hundred meters, reports a 112 correspondent. An approached police car was also smeared with the blood of one of the victims.
Assignment unclear
It is not yet clear what led up to the stabbing. Police say they are reviewing CCTV footage in the area. The victims, the arrested suspect and witnesses are also asked about what happened.
