One cart of an attraction in the Fairytale Forest theme park in Valkenburg fell from a height of five to six meters on Friday. Two adults and one child were injured.
They were taken to hospital by ambulance. Their condition is stable, the South Limburg Security Region said. It went wrong around 2:45 PM. An air ambulance was also called in, but it was not used in the end.
Calidius
The Fairytale Forest says it’s about the Calidius attraction: a balloon tower with spinning carts in the sky. One of those carts fell from a height of about five to six meters. The attraction is still fairly new and opened to the public last September. It is not yet known how it could have gone wrong.
The emergency services have since left: a part of the Fairytale Forest, where the Calidius is located, is closed to the public. The rest will remain open on Friday. Aftercare has been arranged for people who have witnessed the accident.
