Czech actor Pavel Trávníček was taken to a hospital on Sunday due to trouble breathing. He became known as the prince in the fairy tale film “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella”, which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.

His wife Monika Trávníčkova wrote on Facebook last weekend: Friends, have a nice Advent. Oh yes, and think of my husband. Thanks to the rescue workers for their quick arrival, now he is in the hands of the doctors.” The 72-year-old is now doing better. Shortly after her husband’s admission, Trávníčkova announced that his health had stabilized. She and her family also thanked them for the many get well wishes they received. It is not known whether Trávníček has since been able to leave the hospital.

“Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella” is a 1973 co-production of the former Czechoslovakia and the former GDR. The film is considered a Christmas classic and is a permanent fixture on public television channels every year. Alongside Trávníček as the prince, Libuše Šafránková played Cinderella. She passed away in 2021 at the age of 68.
