Three goals against Red Star: Volland keeps Monaco in the Europa League

Kevin Volland almost single-handedly shot AS Monaco into the second round of the Europa League against Red Star Belgrade. There was a heart-stopping final in Group F, in the end Feyenoord and Midtjylland prevailed.

Kevin Volland was the outstanding man in AS Monaco’s 4-1 win against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday evening (November 3rd, 2022). With the win, Monaco secured second place in Group H at the end of the group stage in the Europa League and advanced to the second round.

Volland with hat-trick for Monaco

The 30-year-old former national player Volland hit first with a head (5th minute), then with a foot (27th/87th), and Belgrade’s Milan Rodic (50th) also scored an own goal. Guélor Kanga (54th) scored a penalty kick for the Serbs.

Feyenoord snatches group win from Lazio

There was a heart-stopping final in Group F, where all teams finished with eight points in the final table. Feyenoord ended up winning the group with a 1-0 win over Lazio. The Romans slipped down to third place and only have a chance to win in the conference league to play. To do this, they first have to play in the playoffs against one of the runners-up from the Conference League– Compete in the group stage. FC Midtjylland followed Feyenoord into the second round of the Europa League as runners-up in their group.

AS Roma secured their place in Group C with a 3-1 win over Ludogorets Razgrad.
