Three games – three wins: Last minute victory for Saarbrücken against BVB II

As of: 08/10/2022 9:55 p.m

1. FC Saarbrücken won 1-0 against Borussia Dortmund II. It was a last-minute victory for Saarbrücken, because it was still 0-0 at the end of the regular game. The winning goal for the blue-blacks only fell in added time.

While FCS had a good start to the season – with two wins, once against SC Verl and once in the Saar derby against SV Elversberg – the start of the season did not go so well for Borussia. A draw against Wehen Wiesbaden at the start of the season was followed by a bitter 4-0 defeat against FC Ingoldstadt.

Batz can prevent residue

In the first 15 minutes of the game, FCS in Ludwigspark was clearly superior and in the 10th minute Koschinat’s team almost scored their first goal. After a goalkeeper mistake by BVB keeper Marcel Lotka, Jänicke can almost put the hole in – and Lotka can only stop the ball just before the line.

Within the next 15 minutes, however, Dortmund became stronger, so that a game developed on an equal footing. In the stoppage time of the first half it was almost 1-0 for Borussia, but Batz was able to prevent the deficit with a strong save.

Last minute winner

The second half of the game is generally quieter than the first 45 minutes. After Dortmund had a few chances to score and showed themselves to be stronger, Koschinat swapped Jänicke for Grimaldi in the attack. A good decision, as the team is clearly more present again. Nevertheless, no goal was scored until the regular end of the game – neither for FCS nor for Borussia Dortmund II.

Everything looks like a draw. But then Adriano Grimaldi provided the winning goal – in the 93rd minute. Krätschmer crosses from the left half field into the center, Grimaldi is free on the five, who then heads the ball into the net. A minute later the final whistle sounds from the referee. FCS has won the third game in a row.
