Three from Westerveld awarded for their commitment to touristic Drenthe

Three residents of the municipality of Westerveld received a medal of honor from mayor Rikus Jager this afternoon. These are Bert van der Tuuk from Diever, Peter Sloot from Frederiksoord and Toos van den Berg from Vledder.

The awards were presented in Brasserie Puur in Diever, where the trio of lucky people gathered. Both Van der Tuuk, Sloot and Van den Berg are committed to tourism policy in Westerveld and the rest of Drenthe. After the bankruptcy of VVV Drenthe, they were closely involved with the Westerveld Tourist Promotion Foundation. This is a voluntary organization with a board that is committed to tourism in the municipality on a voluntary basis.

Extra special was the presentation for Toos van den Berg. In 2019 she already received a royal award, so today an honorary medal was added.
