Three final places for Germany at the Gymnastics World Cup

European Champion Elisabeth Seitz and the World Cup debutant Meolie Jauch (both MTV Stuttgart) and Milan Hosseini (TG Böckingen) brought three final places to the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) on the first day of the 46th Tournament of Masters.

Seitz (14.100) took second place behind the uneven bars qualification winner Alice D’Amato (14.500 points) from Italy, Jauch (13.700) was fourth. Hosseini was eighth on floor (13.933).

Oksana Chusovitina from Uzbekistan confidently reached the final on vault. The 47-year-old former German national gymnast received 12,866 points for a half-twist flip-flop and a full-twist tsukahara and placed third. “Today I did easy jumps. In the final I’ll try hard jumps,” said Chusovtina, who has already won 17 times in Cottbus. The best of the day on this device was the 16-year-old Spaniard Manila Esposito (13.383 points).

Almost 200 athletes from 52 nations have registered for the 46th Masters Tournament in Cottbus. For the first time since 2019, the competition can again be held with audience participation. The World Cup is endowed with 50,000 Swiss francs (approx. 50,600 euros). The second part of the qualification is on the program on Friday, before the finals are held on Saturday and Sunday.
