Three fans released from custody

Three supporters of the Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt have been released from custody after the serious riots in Naples. According to Italian media, the people accused of violence and resistance to the police have been banned from staying in Campania, the region around Naples.

The three fans were arrested on March 15 around the Champions League game at SSC Naples, and the supporters’ lawyers had applied for house arrest in Germany for their clients. Six police officers were injured in the riots.

After a legal stalemate, the Italian authorities had banned the sale of tickets to people from Frankfurt/Main. Eintracht then waived the entire guest contingent. Hundreds of SGE fans traveled to Italy for the round of 16 second leg (0:3).
