We asked the bartender of the Marski by Scandic hotel Anselmi from Hentto to recommend three Christmas drinks that can be mixed at home. Try everything!

The Mistletoe

The Mistletoe drink can be decorated with, for example, a little cinnamon sprinkled on top. Jenni Gästgivar

A festive cocktail with a Christmas flavor has been developed around the rosé flavor of Blossa mulled wine, which is popular in Marski’s bar.

– Here you can comfortably find the flavors of the season, describes Henttonen.

The egg white gives a beautiful foam on the surface of the drink. Strain out the ice when you pour the drink into the glass.

Ingredients:

2 cl of aquavit

4 cl of Blossa Rosé mulled wine

2 cl peach cordial (recipe below)

1 cl egg white

2 drops of Angostura Bitter

Put all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain out the ice when you pour the drink into the glass.

You can cook the peach cordial needed for the drink at home with the help of this instruction:

8 dl peach puree

2 dl of water

1 kg of sugar

5 g of cinnamon

5 g of dried cloves

5 g of dried lavender

28 g of malic acid

28 g of citric acid

Incubate in a water bath for 1 hour at 60° degrees.

Ginger Martini

Ginger Martini gets its Christmas flavor from ginger. Jenni Gästgivar

Anselmi Henttonen says Ginger Martini, fortified with ginger, is a drink developed in Finland that is easy to mix even in home kitchens.

– This warms the throat and the mind!

Ingredients:

4 cl of Xanté liqueur

3 cl of lemon

2 cl of sugar

1 slice of ginger

Put all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain out the ice when you pour the drink into the glass.

Beetroot & Tonic – mocktail

The red color of the festive mocktail comes from beetroot syrup. Jenni Gästgivar

Henttonen says that the non-alcoholic cocktails in his bar are designed around the same ingredients and flavors as the alcoholic ones.

Therefore, this non-alcoholic mocktail also uses beetroot syrup, which has also been used in alcoholic drinks.

Beetroot syrup gives the mocktail a beautiful Christmas color, and you can also prepare it perfectly at home. You can find instructions below.

4 cl of beetroot syrup

3 cl lemon juice

Tonic

Mix beetroot syrup and lemon juice in a shaker. Pour into a glass with ice. After that, add the desired amount of tonic to the drink.

You can make beetroot syrup at home from ready-made beetroot juice. Put ½ liter of beetroot juice and ½ liter of sugar in the pot. Boil them down into a syrup.
