Three cannabis farms in Roerdalen rolled up | 1Limburg

The police found cannabis plantations in three homes in the municipality of Roerdalen on Tuesday morning. Two arrests have been made.

The houses were all located in the middle of a residential area. The hemp plantations comprise a total of 600 hemp plants.

Locations hemp farms
Agents came across 105 hemp plants in a house on the Hoofdstraat in Herkenbosch. There, the two suspects were arrested. The other nursery in Herkenbosch was found on the Van der Renneweg. There were 90 plants there. A suspect has been interviewed and will be held accountable at a later date. Most hemp plants were found in a house on the Bergerweg in Vlodrop. It was about 500 plants. The suspect will be heard later.

Dangerous situation
According to Enexis, there was a dangerous situation in one house due to the illegal tapping of electricity. Mayor Monique de Boer is investigating whether the three homes can be closed temporarily.

Risks to safety
“The presence of a hemp plantation also attracts other criminal activities,” the mayor said. “It also entails risks for the safety of local residents. Such as fire and flooding. We want to break through this.” The mayor calls on residents of Roerdalen to report to the police or Report Crime Anonymously if there are suspicions of a cannabis farm in their area.

All plants and cultivation material have been confiscated and are being destroyed. The criminal investigation is still ongoing.
