After three canceled performances, it was finally time for the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) on Saturday: performance at Lowlands. The long wait was rewarded, because thousands of festival-goers went completely crazy, writes RTV Noord.
The first two times (in 2020 and 2021) the performances were canceled due to the corona pandemic. Last year’s cancellation was even more sour. Then the performance was canceled at the last minute because main act Stromae’s sound check ran late.
The NNO – which also performed at Lowlands in 2017 – played Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on Saturday.
The NNO has already been renamed the hit of Lowlands 2023. During the Ninth of Beethoven, not only were jumped, sung and clapped, but even a polonaise was run. There was no mosh pit.
