The funeral of Mikhail Gorbachev, who died earlier this week, was held in Moscow on Saturday. Although he did not receive a state funeral, his funeral would have “elements” of it, the Kremlin said. It lacked world leaders and the Russian president himself, but thousands of Russians came to say goodbye to the man who played a major role in the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
