Thousands of people on Dam Square for peace demonstration against war in Ukraine

Thousands of people have come to Dam Square in Amsterdam because of the peace demonstration against the war in Ukraine. Protesters shouted “Stop Putin, stop war”. There were also several speeches.

Furthermore, there were signs on Dam Square with statements against the invasion of the country and demonstrators had brought many blue-yellow flags with them. By late afternoon, the demonstration came to an end.

This weekend there were several actions against the invasion of Ukraine. A demonstration against the war had also started on the Malieveld in The Hague around 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Furthermore, there was also a peace demonstration in Rotterdam that day, when hundreds of people were present at Plein 1940.

Last week there was also a solidarity action for the Ukrainians on Dam Square, which also attracted thousands of demonstrators.
