Thorsten Mindermann is leaving after 35 years

Thorsten Mindermann, who currently works as regional manager for the Central Europe region at H&M, and the Swedish clothing retailer are going their separate ways after 35 years.

Mindermann is leaving the fashion chain at the end of January “to devote himself to other opportunities,” said an H&M spokesman when asked by FashionUnited. The trade magazine Textilwirtschaft had previously reported on it.

He has been in charge of the German market as Country Manager since 2005 and has had overall responsibility for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands since 2020. According to his own statements, he started his career at H&M on the LinkedIn career network as a student assistant in 1988.

“Thorsten Mindermann has made a major contribution to the success of H&M through his dedicated work, his commitment, his leadership qualities and his love for the H&M brand. We are very grateful for his contribution and wish him all the best for his next chapter,” says the German H&M headquarters in Hamburg.

He will be succeeded by Oldouz Mirzaie, who has been working in various positions in the company since 2002, currently as Regional Manager for South Asia. She also worked as a store manager, area manager, sales manager and country manager for South Africa.

“We are convinced that she will make a major contribution to taking the Central Europe region to the next steps. She will start her new position in February 2024,” said the H&M spokesperson.
