Thompson-Herah continues her 100m streak

Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah has cemented her status as currently the world’s fastest woman. The 29-year-old Jamaican won the Diamond League meeting in Rabat/Morocco over 100 m in a light headwind in 10.83 seconds and stayed under the 11-second mark for the eleventh time in a row in a final.

Thompson-Herah has not lost a race since August 2021. In the previous year, she had advanced to second place in the “eternal” list of the best with 10.54 seconds and approached the fabulous world record of the American Florence Griffith Joyner (10.49), who died in 1998.
