Thomas Tuchel confirms Ryan Gravenberch’s upcoming transfer to Liverpool: ‘We want someone who accepts his role’ | Transfertalk

Ryan Gravenberch continues his career in the Premier League. A day before the closing of the transfer market, the midfielder gets on a plane to Liverpool, which will take him over from Bayern Munich for 40 million euros.

Gravenberch, now assisted by Jose Fortes Rodriguez from the office of the late Mino Raiola, will undergo a medical examination at the English top club on Friday. At Liverpool, the 21-year-old former player of Ajax will sign a five-year contract.

This means that his time in Munich comes to an end after just one year. Bayern took him over from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for 25 million euros. He came out a total of 34 times for the top club, mainly as a substitute.

Tuchel confirm upcoming transfer

At a press conference, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Gravenberch is indeed on his way to completing his transfer. “He was not happy with his situation here and sees an opportunity at Liverpool to fight in the base in a 4-3-3 system. He has wanted to leave for some time now. We want someone who accepts his role. An offer was made and we considered it. The outcome is clear.”
