Thom Browne takes Korean business into his own hands

Thom Browne is taking control of his own Korean business through an agreement with his Korean partner Samsung C&T Corporation.

The US luxury brand, which belongs to the Italian clothing group Ermenegildo Zegna NV, has set up ‘Thom Browne Korea’ for this purpose, Thom Browne announced on Wednesday. The new company is wholly owned by Thom Browne and operates the Korean market.

The agreement with the construction company of the Korean conglomerate Samsung Group relates to retail management and will come into effect from July. Samsung will then manage the store network in Korea, which includes 17 locations.

“We believe in the great potential to grow our business in the Korean market and this innovative agreement provides a solid platform that perfectly combines our respective strengths,” said Rodrigo Bazan.

Thom Browne has worked with Samsung since the opening of the first retail space in the Hyundai Main Department Store. The collaboration also includes the first womenswear store to open in Seoul’s Galleria Luxury Hall East.
