Johnny de Mol really screwed? “This is not an error from SBS 6”

Johnny de Mol has only just returned to HLF8 or there is already a rumor about the continued existence of this talk show, and that is due to SBS 6 itself. Did the sender make a mistake or blunder?

SBS 6 has announced in a presentation for advertisers that a new dating program will start after the summer at the time of HLF8, the talk show that the recently returned Johnny de Mol presents alternately with Sam Hagens and Hélène Hendriks. According to Talpa, however, the announced time for this new dating show is just a mistake.

Error or blunder?

AD opinion diva Angela de Jong fears the worst for HLF8, she says in the AD Media podcast. She thinks that Talpa did not make a mistake, but simply blundered hard by bringing this out. “I would say so too, but that is a printed matter. Don’t you think about that before you put it in there?”

She continues: “I think everyone feels a bit that SBS 6 also has no idea what to do with that HLF8 and how long they will continue to pull it. If the viewing figures suddenly jump to 500,000, I can imagine that they think: hey, we have a formula for success, but I don’t see that happening.”

No longer on schedule

What does Evert Santegoeds, private boss and Shownieuws expert, know about this? He says in the podcast Strictly Private: “What I understand is that it would no longer be in the schedules from September onwards, but yes: schedules sometimes change. It is now in it for the whole spring in any case.”

He continues: “I believe they will certainly continue until the end of April and then it will indeed depend on the figures at that time whether the program will continue or not. I must say that it has been given every opportunity lately. If it still doesn’t work, they might have to look for something else.”

Evert points out that SBS 6 already has a dating show in the evening: Lang Leve De Liefde. “Two dating shows in the evening seems a bit much, but it is a genre that scores.”

‘It was fine’

What did Angela actually think of Johnny’s comeback in HLF8? She says at Today Inside: “I found him a bit uncomfortable in his own program. I think he asked himself, what have I gotten myself into? What is left of the program where I was dancing on the table?”

She continues: “It was kind of his party every night where he invited his friends and there was a bit of chatter at the table about nothing. That is of course very different now.”

Sneak at Ragas

What is it then? “A circus of opinions of all kinds of people who consider themselves very important, of which I think: I don’t need to know what a Bastiaan Ragas thinks about Russia.”

Doesn’t she find that interesting? “No, I don’t mind that much. It goes in one ear and out the other. The next moment it might as well be about pets. Fine.”
