Many interesting cases will be heard in the criminal court again this week. BZ presents the most important ones.

Monday: Room 820, start: 9:30 a.m.: The Berlin Regional Court sentenced the defendant Alpay A. (48) to six years in prison for twelve cases of drug trafficking with cocaine. It also confiscated 290,000 euros in drug money. The dealer’s appeal was successful and the case will be renegotiated.

Tuesday: Holiday

Wednesday: Room 142, start: 9.15 a.m.: Mahmoud El-B. (34) broke into various business premises with accomplices in three cases between November and December 2021. He stole cash, luxury watches and gold with a total value of over 800,000 euros from the lockers of a bank in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Thursday: Room 769, start: 1:30 p.m.: The defendant Maximilian B. (29) is accused of taking part in violent riots on October 23, 2022 following the Bundesliga soccer game Hertha BSC against Schalke 04 in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin-Westend. Several police officers were injured, some seriously. One of the officers was propped down the stadium stairs during the operation. Several people – but not the defendant – then kicked the officer as he lay on the ground. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and is still unable to carry out his duties to this day.

Friday: Room 217, start: 1 p.m.: Omar El-M. (41) is accused of having stabbed his 33-year-old half-sister seven times with a knife with intent to kill on April 4, 2023, while in a state of incapacity. The woman could only be saved through emergency surgery. The public prosecutor’s office is seeking to have the accused placed in a psychiatric hospital.
