The city continues to focus on enforcement. Last summer, about a hundred GAS fines were issued for illegal dumping, for example. But in places where there are often complaints about dog poop, Blankenberge now wants to raise awareness.
“We use banners to remind dog owners of the additional checks and make it clear to them that the darkness will not protect them,” says the mayor. “We are also repeating our reward campaign for cleaning up dog poop,” adds Alderman Jurgen Content.
