Media personality and entrepreneur Jaajo Linnonmaan Kolla Oy filed for bankruptcy at the Helsinki District Court on Wednesday, September 27.

Kolla, which focuses on online fundraising, has its roots in Dealin the program. It was an idea found in Linnonmaa’s desk drawer, around which the final task in the 2021 Deal was built.

Linnonmaa tells on their websitethat “Kolla’s core idea was online fundraising, fair compensation and good domestic sales articles that people really need”.

Sointu Borg won the final task related to Kolla and with it the entire Diili season. After Diil, Borg was said to have taken over the reins of Kolla in the role of development director.

Borg told Iltalehti that the season’s winner was offered a one-year fixed-term employment contract.

“I’m not a priority”

Sointu Borg opened up about his feelings about Diili-pesti in his book. Jenni Gästgivar

In his first book, published in the fall of 2022, Borg spoke more specifically about Diil and working at Kolla Brazenly bold – How to smell the real shit?. Linnonmaa is not mentioned by name in the book.

The italicized passages are excerpts from Borg’s book.

In personal interviews, I answer questions about development leadership, even though there is no such thing as a full development leader. I am not told this directly at the start of my work, but everything has to be interpreted between the lines over time. I have been working for several weeks without proper salary negotiations or employment contracts.

Borg said that he wanted to believe that everything would get better with time. Despite the optimism, however, according to him, things did not change. Borg says in his book that he even regretted participating in the TV competition.

The Diili winner said in his book that he felt he had been cheated.

We don’t talk about things directly, the idea is to pretend that everything is fine. After the final, there would have been time to plan the start of work for half a year. I’m clearly not a priority. My boss doesn’t seem interested that it’s really about my life and my finances. I need a real salary, not round promises and fancy phrases.

Instead of winning awards, Borg said that he made a living from speaking gigs, social media groups, TV appearances and the work of his own company in the event industry. He said that he worked “14 hours a day, seven days a week”.

After the fixed-term contract ended, Borg left the position of development director. A fixed-term contract cannot usually be terminated.

Linnonmaa answered

Linnonmaa took a stand on the claims of Borg’s book on its Instagram account.

– The place of special introspection for me when reading Soinnu’s book was that she felt that I left her to her own devices after filming and that I did not consider her a priority, Linnonmaa wrote.

According to Linnonmaa, there was a period of six months between the shooting of the program and the TV presentation of the final broadcast, when they and Borg could not meet face to face, lest the winner of the competition be revealed prematurely.

Linnonmaa said that he had followed Borg in the media. According to Linnonmaa, Borg said that he wants to focus on building his own personal brand and growing his Viphost company and giving lectures.

After the final episode, Linnonmaa and Borg finally met.

– We tried to find a common ground and a solution that satisfied both, but the threshold issue was, among other things, that Soinnu’s time would not be enough to develop my companies full-time, because part of the week would always be spent on his own projects, said Linnonmaa.

– Sointu dictated his own wishes and conditions regarding salary, ownership, working week and length of employment. Everything was accepted and they went ahead, Linnonmaa wrote.

Linnonmaa said that the end result saddened him too: he didn’t get the development manager he was looking for and Borg didn’t get the job of his dreams.

Now Kolla’s story has come to an end.

Iltalehti contacted Borg to comment on Kolla’s bankruptcy application. Although Borg did not want to comment, his answer spoke volumes.

– I will not touch this issue, Borg commented succinctly.

Iltalehti could not reach Linnonmaa to comment on the bankruptcy application.
