The last night alive of the photojournalist Jose Luis Cabezason January 24, 1997, took place on the businessman’s birthday Oscar Andreani in Pinamar. At that time, the event was one of the most important of the summer. The photos in this note are some of those provided by the Buenos Aires police chief Hugo Matzkin to Eduardo Lerke. According to his colleague from NOTICIAS and friend, the journalist Gabriel MichiAt 11:30 p.m. on January 24, both journalists entered Andreani’s party. Cabezas carried the camera slung over his shoulder, attentive to whether he could capture the image of celebrities and politicians attending the celebration.
“No one could imagine that a group of criminals willing to do anything lurked in the shadows of that event. Nobody imagined it. And much less us, José Luis and I ”, explained Michi on one occasion.
Cabezas and Michi were at the party for about 4 and a half hours. At that moment, Cabezas said goodbye to Michi and the recently deceased photojournalist, Eduardo “El Flaco” Lerke, the last person to see him alive. And he left. at 5:30 in the morning.

Then they set fire to his body inside the Ford Fiesta that NOTICIAS had rented for Cabezas that season.
“Today I review the tributes that are going to be done or that have already been done in different parts of the country and I cannot help but be amazed by what my colleague and friend José Luis represented and represents for Argentine society. and i see the map that I finished completing last year with all the places (more than 70 in all of Argentina) that bear his name and he was stunned. Thousands of people who did not know Cabezas and who still do not forget him today, ”Michi once wrote, remembering his partner.
