This walking path will probably go around the Dobbeplas

A complete walk around the Grote Dobbe is now not possible because there is private land on the side of the Dorpsstraat. But the construction of a new path would make a walk around the lake possible. That is why the municipality is planning to install a deck.

The new deck is part of the new plans for the Dobbe area behind the Stadshart.

Not yet final

The Municipal Executive has included the construction of a deck in the plans for Central Park. This was devised in consultation with local residents. The decision regarding the decking has not yet been made: the municipal council must adopt the zoning plan, after which Zoetermeer residents can object for six weeks.

The animal already has a name

A (street) name has already been devised for the new decking: De Ambachtsheerheid. This name refers to craftsman Visser. The area where the decking may be placed is its territory. If the plans go ahead, there will be a street sign at the path.

Central Park

In addition to the decking, the municipality also plans to construct four new (play) islands and to enlarge the existing Dobbe island by partly filling in the water around it. “More homes will be built in the city center. We offer with a new Central Park
