Zoetermeer has a very nice new thrift store. We warn you in advance: there is no sniffing around, you will definitely come out with at least two cool things that you have always wanted.

Thrift shop Het Goed is known in the Netherlands among thrift fans. From all over the country, these professional bargain hunters know how to score the nicest things and decorate their entire house with it. That is not so difficult at Het Goed, because there are really nice used items.

Color, type and size

According to the manager, Het Goed is just a bit different from other thrift stores. “We have a real store with used stuff. They come from Zoetermeerders but also from other branches. Clean items that are in good condition deserve a place in our store. We sort everything by color, type and size. We also want to make young people enthusiastic about our business. There are so many really nice, used stuff out there. You can buy them all from us for a small price.”

In addition to the extensive shop, a GoedvanSmaak coffee corner has also been opened. The catering business is nicely furnished with used furniture and you can go there for coffee, sausage rolls and toasted sandwiches. Even if you don’t go shopping, the coffee corner is a nice place to meet.

For a good cause

At the rear of the huge building, where the former Impala Autos used to be, is the input of goods. Your returned items will be sorted there and possibly polished before they go into the store. Het Goed is part of De Omkeer’s collaboration with the EcoWare Foundation, Werkbedrijf De Binnenbaan and Teamwerk. They want to promote the reuse of items, offer workplaces to clients of daytime activities and apprenticeships for job seekers. All proceeds from the store go to this partnership.
