Linda Hamilton – Sarah Connor from the “Terminator” films and thus a sci-fi, action and 80s icon – has been won by Netflix for the final season of “Stranger Things”.
“I don’t know what it will be like to be a fan girl and an actress at the same time,” the 66-year-old said in a clip. What role she will play has not been revealed.
Hamilton played Sarah Connor in The Terminator (1984), Judgment Day (1991) and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), each alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
As Sarah Connor, Hamilton saved the world several times. Her involvement in the fifth season of the sci-fi mystery series was confirmed during the Tudum streaming fan event in Brazil, announced by Schwarzenegger.
“Stranger Things” with four seasons so far is the biggest English-language hit series on the streaming service Netflix, topped only by the Korean “Squid Game”.
“Stranger Things season five promises to be even darker, more menacing, and more exciting than any previous season. The perfect match: Linda Hamilton,” Netflix said on Sunday. The season is currently in pre-production.
When exactly the Netflix audience will see “Stranger Things 5” is completely unclear. The writers’ strike in the USA also affects the production of this series.
The fact that Linda Hamilton takes part as an 80s icon in the retro series “Stranger Things” seems logical to many fans.
Incidentally, “Terminator: Dark Fate” was on the ProSieben program on Sunday evening during prime time.
